I was born and raised in California before heading to Idaho to complete my bachelor's degree. The deciding factor to chase the PA career came when I was able to interact with the PA who was a part of the team for my father鈥檚 heart surgery. These interactions led to a better understanding of how a PA can alleviate a great deal of the stress and anxiety surrounding health issues, not only for the patient but for the patient鈥檚 support system as well. After that, the vision for my career became clear, and I did everything I could to prepare for a future in medicine. From volunteering as an instructor in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to working as a medical scribe at an Orthopedic Surgeon鈥檚 office to shadowing a Vascular Surgery PA, I saw everything through the lens of becoming a better communicator for the patients that I hope to serve in the future.
