Haggerty Museum of Art Teaching Gallery: ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Curriculum Connections
August 24 – December 20, 2020
As an academic art museum, the Haggerty Museum of Art works with departments across disciplines to integrate its exhibitions and programs into ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ teaching and learning. During the Fall 2020 semester, the Haggerty’s second-floor gallery has been converted to a teaching gallery exclusively focused on, and accessible only to, the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ community. This will ensure that the Museum can continue to support ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ courses while complying with social distancing standards. The gallery will feature an exhibition of work from the Museum’s collection addressing themes including social justice, the environment, gender issues, micro/macro views of the world, Old Testament stories, movement, critical thinking, Spanish-speaking cultures, and more. Whether visiting the Museum in a small group as part of a Foundations in Theology or Nursing class, or stopping in to complete an assignment on their own, students will be able to directly engage with these thought-provoking works of art in a safe and inspiring environment.
