Creative writing at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is anchored by the Department of English, which offers courses in poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction taught by widely published authors.
Beyond the classroom, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s creative writers will find many ways to take risks, hone their skills and have fun.
The Writing Center sponsors writing retreats and the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Writing Month to foster a strong community of writers.
There are two English majors at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ: English literature and writing-intensive English. Students participate in interactive, seminar-style classes.
The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Literary Review is an annual creative writing online journal. The Review seeks submissions from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s most talented student writers.
Milwaukee is home to many creative writing resources, including the Woodland Pattern Book Center, the Council for Wisconsin Writers and the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets.
The Friends and Alumni/ae of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ English (FAME) is dedicated to promoting a lifelong love of reading and writing as a crucial element in ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ’s mission of excellence, leadership, faith and service.
