Speech Pathology and Audiology
Bridget Valla earned her Bachelor's of Science in the College of Communication in 1991, and her Master's of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in 1992. She has practiced as a Speech Language Pathologist in pediatrics for the past 20 years in a hospital setting with a focus in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Outpatient Pediatric Therapy Department.
Bridget served as an adjunct clinical and academic instructor at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ since 2007. She joined the faculty full time in 2013. She teaches Intervention Issues Birth-To-Three Child and Procedures in Medical and School Settings. Bridget’s special interests are in neonatal feeding and development, pediatric feeding, expressive and receptive language delays and disorders, oral motor speech disorders, and augmentative and alternative communication. She also has experience in the treatment of children with neurological involvement. Bridget currently works pool as a Speech Language Pathologist at Columbia-St. Mary’s Hospital servicing the acute neonate and outpatient pediatric population.
