Dr. Angela Haendel is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Director of Graduate
Studies (DGS) in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology (SPPA) at
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Along with these roles, Dr. Haendel serves as program
assessment leader (PAL) for the SPPA department. She also is a member of the
Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) curriculum committee and the Interprofessional
Education (IPE) committee. She received her Bachelor of Science and Education (BSE)
at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Master’s of Science (MS) degree from the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ
University. Angela has been a licensed speech-language pathologist since 2002. Before
working in academia, Angela worked primarily in the public school setting along with a
private practice focusing on teletherapy/telehealth for more than 12 years. Dr. Haendel’s
research interests include autism, social language, animal-assisted therapy, and
fluency.
