Exercise Science

Mariah earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Eastern Washington University in 2021. She continued her education at EWU, earning a Master’s of Wellness and Movement Sciences, with an emphasis in Exercise Science in 2023. Her thesis research focused on studying the physiological and psychological performance effects of pre-workout versus caffeine and a placebo on females during resistance training.

Mariah helps teach in several of the undergraduate labs, including EXPH 2046, 2116, 3180, and 3200. She also teaches EXPH 3000 applied electives. Her research interests include the effects of supplementation on performance, exercise testing and prescription, and learning about different types of exercise training. When not at work, Mariah likes to spend time with her husband and dog Jet, reading, lifting, and being outside.
