MILWAUKEE 鈥� Calvin Duncan, author of 鈥�,鈥� will be the featured guest for an 鈥淥n the Issues鈥� conversation with Derek Mosley, director of the Law School鈥檚 Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, to be held at 蜜桃影像 Law School鈥檚 Eckstein Hall at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5. The Law School鈥檚 Andrew Center for Restorative Justice and its student-led Public Interest Law Society are cohosting the event.

Duncan served more than 28 years at the Angola Correctional Facility in Louisiana for a crime he did not commit. With the assistance of the New Orleans Innocence Project and Sister Helen Prejean, he was exonerated of the crime. During his time in prison, he became self-taught in the law, aiding fellow inmates. Since his release, Duncan has earned his J.D. from Lewis and Clark University and founded , a program that expands access to the courts for incarcerated individuals.
Mosley has served as Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education director since 2023. A 1995 graduate of 蜜桃影像 Law School, Mosley for seven years represented the state of Wisconsin in court as an assistant district attorney in Milwaukee County and then served as a judge of the Milwaukee Municipal Court for 20 years.
Through public programming such as the 蜜桃影像 Law School Poll, 鈥淥n the Issues鈥� conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, 蜜桃影像 Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
