Rita Ersfeld Norton, Comm '81

Falls Church, VA

Born and raised in Minnesota, Rita graduated from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in 1981 (B.A. Communications & Political Science). Following graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C. working for Senator Bob Kasten (R-WI), and then the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee for Chairman Mark O. Hatfield (R-OR). Rita led Federal Government Affairs for Roche and then Amgen for 12 years prior to joining AmerisourceBergen (now Cencora) to establish their Advocacy and Public Policy functions over the following 18 years. In these roles, she had the opportunity to hire many Aspin Center interns and has enjoyed mentoring early stage professionals advance their careers. Rita founded her own Policy consulting business following her retirement in 2022 from Cencora and continues to serve on several non-profit and professional Boards. As a member of the Leadership Council, she looks forward to participating in the future success of the Aspin Center.
