2026 ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Graduate Student Photo Contest: Life of a Graduate Student

The Graduate School invites you to participate in the 2026 MU Graduate Student Photo Contest. This year’s theme—"Life of a Graduate Student"—celebrates the diverse, dynamic, and inspiring experiences of graduate students across all disciplines.
We’re looking for powerful images that capture what it means to be a ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ graduate student. Whether it’s the intensity of a late-night study session, the focus of clinical work, the energy of teaching, the quiet moments of reflection, or the collaboration that fuels discovery—your photo should tell a story of life in graduate school.
Examples of submissions may include:
- Lab work or research in action
- Classroom or teaching experiences
- Clinical placements or fieldwork
- Studying in your favorite spot (coffee shop, library, bus!)
- Student groups and collaboration
- Campus life and wellness activities
Rules & Submission Details:
- Only one digital photograph may be submitted per graduate student.
- Upload your submission to the by January 15, 2026; portal closes at noon. Voting opens in the portal on February 1 and closes on February 15 at noon.
- You will be required to provide the following with your submission:
- First name
- Last name
- MUID number
- Program of study
- Degree (Master's/Certificate or Doctoral)
- Title of your photograph
- A brief description of your photo (what it depicts and why it matters to you)
Prizes:
Winners will be announced at the 3-Minute Thesis Competition.
- One, $250 cash prize for top voted photo taken by a doctoral student.
- One, $250 cash prize for top voted photo taken by a master’s or certificate student.
