Duke University Marine Laboratory
If you have an interest in marine science, ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ is a member of the Marine Sciences Education Consortium () with the (DUML) in Beaufort, North Carolina. MSEC is a cooperative program that enables students from member colleges and universities to study marine science with faculty at Duke’s coastal marine campus and one of the country’s leading marine research facilities. Juniors and seniors can enroll full-time for the fall or spring semester at the Duke Marine Lab, and students will receive a Duke transcript from their time at DUML.
- The program includes a variety of full-semester courses that span a wide range of marine science and conservation topics.
- In the , DUML has a unique block schedule that allows for signature courses involving travel to places like Belize (Marine Ecology), Singapore (Urban Tropical Ecology), and St. Croix & Puerto Rico (Biology and Conservation of Sea Turtles) in addition to the Beaufort-based course offerings.
- Summer courses at DUML include Conservation Biology & Policy, Biology & Conservation of Sea Turtles, and Drones in Biology, Ecology & Conservation.
